Australia & beyond 2008
We had planned to set off on this trip in autumn 2007 but then decided to alter the route to take in Russia, Mongolia and China, and although we understand driving is easier in Russia when the rivers are frozen felt that might be a steppe too far for the old van as well as our own increasingly aging bones! Therefore the planned date of departure from home is now April Fools Day 2008, highly appropriate.
The intended route includes; Spain, France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Russia, Mongolia, China, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand.
At this point decisions have to be made about returning home. Do we ship to India and return overland? Bill has always wanted to return to India. Or do we ship to the Americas? We always planned to visit Peru & would like to see American friends again, plus Alaska. We would prefer to do the later but final decisions can wait. The journey to Australia is expected to take about 9 months so plenty of time to decide.
